Nov 20, 2008 10:49 AM
Nachum and Andrew Parver discuss helping those in need receive proper burial.

Listen

Nachum interviewed Andrew Parver, Director of education and outreach for the Hebrew Free Burial Association, about the Association and their heightened fundraising efforts in relation to Parshas Chayei Sarah. The Hebrew Free Burial Association began in the 1880's as a free burial society serving the residents of Manhattan's Lower East Side and was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1889. As the need grew in adjacent Jewish communities, HFBA also grew to serve the broader metropolitan area of New York City. HFBA is currently the largest free burial society outside of Israel. Andrew explained why it is so important to help support the HFBA and how there is no time like today to get involved. Click the link above to listen.
